My name is Ashley Kohn, and I’m from Waukesha, Wisconsin! A lot of my work consists of handwritten typography, objects, and characters and I’m always willing to learn new techniques and mediums. I mainly work digitally on an iPad or a giant drawing tablet but I always make an exception for traditional media. I went to college at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and majored in Illustration with a bachelor's degree in fine arts. I have been on the Dean's List from 2021 to 2024 throughout my 4 years at MIAD. I love Japan so Anime and Manga are my go-to for inspiration, I’m also inspired by animation, though I don’t animate myself. Some of my hobbies include listening to many different genres of music and cleaning like a boss, we all get into that mood sometimes ya’know?

When I was just a Freshman in college I started a part-time job in August of 2021, I worked for grocery stores such as Metro Market otherwise known as Pick’N’Save and I worked in the specialty cheese department where I would cut, sell and stock worldwide cheese. I enjoyed drawing on the display chalkboards to attract customers to try our samples. At another store, Woodman’s Food Market, I was a maintenance clerk and would clean, take care of garbage, recycle, and stock on the floor. And now I am an independent illustrator!
